  • Old Stone Walls

    Hello all!
I've a rather interesting project in uni at the moment. Our site has part of an old town wall running across the middle of it. As an architectural point, I'm using it as a visual link between the street to a courtyard, and then through to a harbour.

Anyway, I'm not so sure about what's the best way to go about rendering it up. Right now, I suspect the way in which I model it in SU will be a key factor. I have a number of nice textures to use for it, but I think the way it's modeled is going to be an issue. I don't have any photos of the wall, because our site access was VERY limited. So i found an image on the web of the part of the walls further up the town that's still pretty much intact:

Any tips/help/suggestions as far as modelling/rendering would be a big help.

yeah, I'm thinking i should maybe try to only do long shots of it, but right now, it's just a box. I think i could do with modeling some definition on it, but i'm not sure what's the best option for it really.

1)sandbox tool to model the geography of your wall

2)free hand some rock shapes then push them out and bevel the edges

3)download some rock components from 3d warehouse and embed those into your rectangular wall.
