  • How to cancel render

    Hi,

I've just purchased 1.48.89 to use with Sketchup Pro 7.1.6860. I recall there was a progress bar and cancel button on an old trial I once used, but this no longer seems the case. Pressing Render only brings up the frame buffer, and nothing else. Pressing the render button again just tends to crash Sketchup! Has the the cancel button been moved elsewhere?

    HI,

you can, just, press "x" (the x button to close de VFB), or with the VFB open press ESC key.

So I can't do a partial render and then halt it to check the initial results like I had done in an older version, unless I manually save a snapshot before closing?

edit: I see from another thread that it's been removed - possibly temporarily - to improve performance. So I gather closing the frame buffer is the intended way of halting renders?

you can open the frame buffer again by hitting the F button in the toolbar. You are correct about the progress window. It was once home to some useful information while rendering, and a cancel button. It slowed down the render progress significantly in this version though, so we had to take it out until a better solution was found. It falls kind of low on our list of things to fix though, so it hasn't been fixed yet.

Ok, thanks for clearing that up.
