  • BLINN WARD PHONG?

    Hello,

Im sorry if this has been previously mentioned... im being lazy....

Can anyone explain.... or point me in the direction of a source, to understand the differences in reflection shaders please? I have always used Blinn as that was the default, but upon picking up a xmas pressie model from Thrang&*&* (i cant remember how to spell his user id) he had used the Phong shader for leather and the result was very good.

    Kind Regards

      Re: BLINN WARD PHONG?

i have done some searching... feel free to correct me if ive found a poor source.

Blinn + Phong - basically the same but Phong has less of a highlight. Should be used for plastics and metals... basically anything.

Ward - should be used for materials with anisotropic reflections only

      any thoughts....?
