Re: basic things to do for rendering

    hi,

    1. LIGHTS - Make sure your lights are correct 1st. For me, the lights
    setting come 1st, then material.

    2. MODEL - I know its a good for SU to use a low poly model, but if we
talk about rendering, try use a hi-poly model coz it'll improve
your realistic value (but as far as i know it shouldn't effect
    your rendering times)

    3. SETTING - Most of my images are rendered below 1hr. You don't have
to use a high setting IF u get the same result as a low
setting. Try to learn on how animation setting works, it will
also gradually improved your rendering times!

      hi...
check this tutorial. i explained the basic steps, the most important thing you should do is have order. the model is the first thing, and by that i also mean that you should use layers to navigate easier... then go to the illumination, phisical camera, enviroment, artificial lights, move to material editing, adding layers to the materials, 2 sided materials, transparency, etc... and leave the settings to the end...

the time depends of the realism... a nice render with a regular machine shouldn't last more than 1 hour, but of course, you can work for weeks just to finish the model, or the light
