  • HDRI Backrounds

    Hey All,

I am trying to use HDRI for my Lighting & Backround, when I render my scene I see the HDRI Backround but it appears to have zoomed in?

Here is a couple of images maybe this will explain it a bit better.........

    First My HDRI Image

This is my Rendered image showing the backround

As you can see it is showing the HDRI image but it has zoomed in so I am missing some of the image, is this normal?

Yes, Basically the whole image will be wrap around the scene. Like if you were wrapping a sphere with the image. The zoomed image is just the portion of the HDRI that is visible by the camera.

      Re: HDRI Backrounds

      Hey Fernando,

I was watching the featured tutorials by Omar & when he used a HDRI it didn't zoom in the way mine is, is there a way to zoom out so I can see more of my backround, thanks.

        Re: HDRI Backrounds

No, there no way to control the size of the HDRI, the only thing that you can do is rotate them.

            Re: HDRI Backrounds

            hey david...
the thing with the hdris is that they never change their size...
with a bigger hdri, you keep good proportion, if the hdri is small, it'll fit on your "vray's enviroment" and therefore, it'll be zoomed in.
try with the sites that i said in the tutorials, specially the open footage one...

              Hey Omar,

This is one of the HDRI Images from the Openfootage site, nice site BTW.... ;D

Just wondering will my reflections come from the zoomed in backround or the original background file...same for the lighting??

                Re: HDRI Backrounds

Couldnt you change the tiling of the image so that it would decrease in size?

                  Re: HDRI Backrounds

You are going to see the tiled HDRI on the reflection. The best solution is use the HDRI to get some reflection and apply the background in photoshop.
