Ok, let me explain... since the "infinite grass" method doesnt work anymore with newer VRAY versions, I started doing grass with displacement.
So, I have this nice displacement grass in the front yard. It is rendering fine.
Now, I need some stone slabs, so people can walk from the sidewalk to the front door.
Problem is... I put the slabs over the grass, and obviously, the VRAY grass is taller than the stone slab, and the tips of the grass leaves appear over the slab, as if growing from it.
So, how to solve it? Well, this is actually the second time I got the SAME problem.
First time, I cut away geometry from the grass and put the slabs there. AFTER I DO THAT, displacement stoped working!
This was a few weeks ago. Yesterday, what I did was to simply paint another texture (stone) on the needed triangles of the grass mesh.
guess what? Yup. After I did that, the entire grass displacement stoped working.
why is this happening??
