  • translucent effect by height?

Recently I've seen a number of architectural renderings that show potential future development with a translucent effect that gets more and more transparent as you go up in height. Ex:

I'm wondering about strategies for getting something similar out of vray? Easy to do with two renderings (one with future building one without) and comp in photoshop, but wondering if there's a way to do it hitting render only once.

    Thanks.

defo a PS job my friend,

there may be a clever way to do it in vray, but i imagine the amount of test renders needed to get the exact effect would be vast. so for all the time wasted in re-rendering, a quick job in PS job will suffice

    kind regards

Use a gradient map on the material. Could be on the diffuse layer on the transparency slot or on the refraction color.
