  • Black spots on walls and ceiling.

    Hi Guys.
I'm sure this topic was covered a few times already but I can't find a simple answer through the search so I apologize in advance.
Basically I need to know how to get rid of these black spots that are highlighted on the picture below:

Logically, after looking at the picture, I tend to think that this problem is due to the darkness of that particular area so I even put an extra rectangular to light up this corner a bit but I don't wanna make to strong coz this area should be dark IRL. Any suggestions? Here is a model overview BTW:

    Current settings:

I made them super high just to see if that's going to help but it didn't.
Everything else is more or less default, GI and BG are TexSky, default lights are off (btw I wstill don't understand why this check-box does), wall and ceiling materials have no reflection at all.

    Thanks.

It's just a default physical camera, no changes were made.

Re: Black spots on walls and ceiling.

you could double your HSph. Subdvis to 160. You could also try using the DMC sampler with a threshold of 0.01 (gives a smoother, if slightly grainier image)

          Thanks.
I was afraid to increase hSbdv because Fernando in one of his tutorials warned us that if you will increase it too much you might loose some shadow details. I will try it tonight, thanks again.

            I said the samples.
I would like to know the rest of your setting. Image Sampler, DMC sampler, Indirect Illumination

I think that the problem could be the AO and the antialiasing. Your IRR Map and Light Cache setting seem to be go.

Try to decrease the anti-aliasing color threshold to .008, also increase the AO subdivs between 16 - 32. If you still having the issue you could increase the Irr MAp Hsph Sudivs up to 120.
