  • I need help with this metal wall panel

    Hi guys:

I try to create a metal corrugated wall horizontal. I apply the material but when i make the render it does not show the metal in the right scale. I want to know where in the settings from the material editor I can scale the textures so I can see the achieve goal. I attach all the images and samples include the material.

    Thank you in advance.

    Hello,

I checked your model & I noticed that the corrugated metal material does NOT have a diffuse layer; thus you cannot control the mapping of the material.
Very simply, all you need to do is to add the diffuse layer to control the mapping (from the material editor in SketchUP).

I do hope that this will be helpful to you.

V-Ray control the UV mapping using a diffuse layer, but if you put a texture in the diffuse layer you are going to see the texture on the final render. To resolve this issue, you need to add a second diffuse layer. The very top diffuse layer should have the corrugated texture, you have to make this layer 100% transparency to avoid this layer on the render. So apply 100% white color on the transparency color for this diffuse layer.
The second diffuse layer should have the desired color for the corrugated metal.
Now with the texture visible in the viewport, you can right click on the face and change the scales.

          Thanks.

I forgot to mentioned that if you use 100% white color on the transparency slot the face will be transparent. So change the color back to black, then click on the "M" near transparency color and use "Acolor", then change the Acolor to 100% white. By doint this you are going to make the first layer invisible at the render time, but it will visible in the viewport to fix the scale of the texture.
