1.49.01 fails to load + crashes SU8 for non-admins

Hi all,

We've just rolled out SketchUp 8 on a few machines with V-Ray for SketchUp 1.49.01. When users who are members of the local administrators group load SU8 + V-Ray, it works fine. When Power Users launch SU8 + V-Ray, we get an error that "V-Ray for Sketchup was not able [to] load, because it could not locate all dependent files". When I click OK, SU crashes and pops a BugSplat dialog. I can see the ProgramData\ASGVIS folder that everything is installed in just fine. Nothing is written to the vfs_stderr.txt error log.

Any help diagnosing this would be appreciated,

Solved

I uninstalled Vray
Redownloaded the Vray 1.49.01
Installed it
Now its working fine.

Uninstalling and re-installing (twice) did not work for me. My issue was resolved by giving Modify rights for Users on C:\ProgramData\ASGVIS. It's something the installer should verify/correct, or better yet, not install anything to that directory. ASGVIS support suggested giving users Admin rights on the machine (uh, no). Applications should run just fine for Users, and particularly members of the Power Users group. Hopefully they'll get this fixed in the installer.
