SketchUp is a 32bit application, which means it can address 2GB RAM by default. Since VfSU runs inside the SketchUp process it it also affected by this limitation.
However, since SU8M1 SketchUp is now LargeAddressAware - which means that under 64bit Windows, with more than 4GB RAM, SketchUp can now use up to 4GB RAM.
If you are concerned about running out of memory while rendering, open the Task Manager and monitor SketchUp.exe's memory usage right before you get errors. If it's closing to 3GB (or 4GB depending on your system) then you're most likely running out of memory.
Note that all hope is not lost - as you can usually find some setting in VfSU that you can adjust to decrease memory usage.
Please mention what V-Ray and SketchUp version you are using when posting questions.
Thanx a lot for comment soo fast.
Sooo you are telling me that if i have a 12gb ram ddr3, with i7 extreme, nvidia 2gb video card etc. (basically a super computer).
and i have a norma 4gb ram ddr2, dual core Pentium 2.2 etc, we bought run SU at the same capacity?
No, the only thing that is limited, is the RAM. The number of CPU cores, and the speed of those cores, are what really determines the speed of your renders. The video card isn't used by V-Ray at all. The memory limitations have been this way since the very first release of our product, and is noted in our FAQs. There are some workarounds you can try as well.
This also means that every single render you have seen, that has been made with our product, has been rendered even though those memory limitations are in place.
