I spent 2 hours tracking down what was causing my rendering to take forvever to calculate the IR map. It turns out it was a PNG file. I didnt even have the 'use color as trans' turned on. What could cause vray to react to a texture in this way?

Re: PNG texture was killing my render
there's a thread here in the forum regarding that error/bug. I've personally experienced this kind of bug while doing an interior scene.
The only workaround for this one is to set all transparency map per material to BLACK or WHITE only. Don't use gray color when you have a curtain for example. Instead put a texAcolor to that transparency slot.
This problem occurs only in interior rendering I think.
