Distr. rendering with 1 more computer & faster render

hello

i am having trouble rendering quick enough : i use vray 1.48.96 and asking if distr. rendering can be used with my computer and another computer next to me can this help ?
also , can you recommend options file which is good enough and quick enough ?
is there a reference to which options in the vray options affect most on speed ?

where did you get that version from? It's way out of date....
