Re: i need of a night interior tutorial - please help

you did not attach any link but i think i know what your talking about and its for rhino.
now i know its almost the same but still i get bad result.

something with the sketchup sun which i cannot turn off and still getting shadows.

could someone please write down the principle ? what kind of lights do i turn off and what do i turn on ? i dont need the tutorial just the basics.

perhaps choosing a very "late" time of day in sketchup ?
      please help

Re: i need of a night interior tutorial

That was not a smart move on my part :-\! But you are right...it was the Rhino tutorial I wanted to mention.

What I do to get a night render is decreasing the environment value (GI color), increase the sun light size a bit to 'blur' the shadows and adjust the camera shutter speed and film ISO then start working on the intensity of the (interior / exterior) lights to get the ambiance. Also change the background color or add a night scene image in the background.

        Hope this gets you started.

        Regards,

          hey jeri

first of all thanks for helping. I know vfsu and rhino is close but its hard enought to get around my own scene problems and then i have to translate from rhino to vfsu (:

          anyway - few questions :

the are the environment GI&background and then there is the indirect illumination setting for gi ? also there are the light setting in the first option tab - which do i turn off ?
is it possible to get a basic night visopt file somewhere cause there are too many setting and i thing its messed up .
i looked alot for a basic night setting file - but could not find one...

jeri, your my last hope (:

Re: i need of a night interior tutorial

Hi ZILBERDIK, what I do is in the GI color and BG color, set them to Texsky and simply decrease the intensity to something like 0,001, also in Camera I decrease the film speed(ISO) to 10 and in sketchu up I set the shadow hour to 23:00 hrs, I don't know if this is the proper way ;D
