  • glas with liquid (test)

I tried a test render of a glass with a liquid in... followed the tutorial of the great Nomer Adona, I did with the default sketchup visopt, one without caustics on, and one with the caustics turned on... the one with caustics on makes the glass look more real, but gives me sparkles all over. this doesn't happen when turning caustics off, but then the glass doesn't look so good anymore.

is there a way to overcome the sparkling thing and keep the caustics?

I uploaded them both to my flickr account

Those sparkles are actually the caustics effect. Seem the the setting are wrong. select the light that is producing the caustics and increase the caustics subdivision to 3000 or 6000 (you can still increasing this number is you need more quality) search distance between 5 and 20. Maximum photon around 100 or 300. You should have a better result.
