    hi guys,
    I would like to know if anybody has any experience in rendering large files over an external renderfarm.
    I'm rendering a fairly large image, and it takes forever...
    thx for sharing!

    Hello there,

    What is the actual resolution of your image ?
    Rendering Hi-resolution images like 15k takes much longer render-times than 1k for example.
    When you double size of the image - render times are at least 4 times slower.
    So fo example if 1k image is rendered for 1 hour ,
    2k image will take 4 hours ,
    4k = 16 hours ,
    8k = 64 hours
    16k = 256 hours

    You can same some time from Global Illumination calculation if you pre-calculate it on lower resolution , and then use it for final rendering on hi-resolution image.

        Is it possible to post a screenshot of your render settings or to send us your scene to: support@chaosgroup.com
        And we will try to help.

          Hi Irmin
          Are you using displacement? Can you share you setting? Usually in that huge render, you don't need high anti-aliasing nor high irradiance map. Your render should not take that long time to render.
          Displacement increase the rendering time if you have very high setting.
