  • Vray 2.0 BootCamp ?

    Hi,

I have just noticed this note
"Virtualization systems such as VMWare and Parallels are not recommended".

Does anyone know if Vray 2.0 run on BootCamp?

    Thank you.

BootCamp is not a virtualization software because you get a "native" Windows harddisk and OS. So it's not a simulation.
Anyway I tried Vray in windows through Parallels on my iMac and that seems to work great. Only thing is that you don't use the full processing power of your machine. Running Windows in Bootcamp does use every bit of power!
Is there a particular reason why you want to run Vray under Windows when there's also an OS X version?

We develop the product using bootcamp, it works just as it would on a native windows machine.

I find the OS X version to be unstable and crashes Sketchup constantly. I use Parallels with Windows 7 and dont have these issues. I wish it was more stable, because I prefer to be on the OS X side of my laptop. Do you find it stable?

Thanks Devin. I look forward to the stability. Also, I will be attending a Sketchup 2014 event in Boston where I am pushing for 64bit version.

I find it very unstable as well. My solution has been to turn off Vray while I"m working in Sketchup and turn it back on when I have to start rendering. It's a huge pain, but nothing else has worked.

that's a valid workaround until the patch is released.
