  • Dongle opinion and posting rights

    1. I purchased a license for Rhino but find I don't have permission to post in the Rhino forums. Why is that and what can I do about it? There is a thread at the top of the General forum called Are You Having Trouble Posting but it links to a blank page.

    2. I purchased the Rhino license through CG River (great price - $649). They are now going to communicate with ChaosG roup in Bulgaria and my dongle will be re-programmed to have both SketchUp V-Ray and Rhino V-Ray on it. Is that wise? The dongle thing makes me nervous (what if it gets damaged? lost?). With any other program I use I can just re-download but if there's a problem with the dongle I'm dependent on someone from Chaos Group intervening on my behalf. So my question is - if you have multiple versions of V-Ray do you have them all on one dongle or do you have separate dongles? Kind of as a back up.

I have vray for su and vray standalone on the same dongle. The reprogramming was completely hassle-free (to add vray for SU on my existing standalone dongle). I use the license over a network and have had zero licensing issues. (some firewall issues, but easily solved once you set the port exceptions)
    Best,

    Andy

Thanks for the reply. I told CGriver to go ahead and set it up so I have SU and Rhino on one dongle.
