  • Vray Proxy Texture problem

Hi I am having a problem with Vray proxies, I: 1. Open an ordinary tree 2.save as a proxy 3. open a new file and hit the "import vray proxy" button. 4, vray proxy appears, but when I render it the textures are very wrong.
I have seen a workaround where you can save the proxy and the original model in same scene, then you have to import the original and the proxy together....this does now work...but special the "Import vray proxy" button is now superfluos? ie it does not work. It is shown as working in the Chaos Group video....does it work for anyone? This seems to have been a problem since 2013...

    Hello,

When importing a V-Ray Proxy, V-Ray does not actively import the materials or textures associated with that proxy. That has to be done manually. Please review our import process here: http://docs.chaosgroup.com/display/V...y+for+SketchUp. This should explain how to properly import a proxy into Sketchup.

That said, When you create a new proxy from V-Ray for Sketchup, V-Ray automatically generate a Sketchup file with that proxy and materials in it, ready for use. You may want to import the Sketchup file instead of the raw proxy file, this may eliminate your issue of missing textures.
