  • Backup Image file During Render ?

    Hi all @ Chaos forum

A bit of a newbie question but is there any way to backup the image file during render ? I recently had to produce some lengthy renders (4 x 24 hours) back to back for a really tight deadline and the pressure would of been a lot less if I knew the image files were being backed up regularly. I have used the history save option during render which seems to work but was not sure if this the most effective\ stable solution. It would be better to have a solution which is automated and stable. I have not had too many crashes but some when changing scenes in BR mode on large files. At least a regular image backup would allow a shorter region render to fix afterwards.

I tried searching for info but cannot find anything directly relevant to Vray Sketchup.

    Thanks in advance

Unfortunately, this is not supported in V-Ray 2 for SketchUp and wont be in the future because of the limitations behind the v2 Framebuffer. However, we have arddressed this issue in V-Ray 3 for SketchUp and an autosave function will be available in its Framebuffer.

Thanks for your quick response I will therefore have to wait for V3. Is there any documentation on what can be expected in version 3 and is the beta still available for testing ?

      Thanks again

You can find some information here: https://docs.chaosgroup.com/display/VRAYSKETCHUP but keep your eyes on your email. There might be some news coming about it very soon
