  • SLOW renders! What does all this mean?

Working with Vray 3 and SU 2017 on a mac, rendering scenes are brutally slow. The SU file is 70 mgs. I've tried setting the resolution quality to "medium" instead of "high" and I've even removed some geometry that wasn't visible in the scene. I do have quite a few rectangle lights in the scene but I don't think that would necessarily effect the render time.

I'm wondering if what I see in the attached screen shot of the progress window might have something to do with it. If not, does anyone have any suggestions on how to speed up the rendering process without losing too much detail? Also attaching a screen shot of the rendering at 1% progress.

    Thanks all.

    Hello,

Could you send us an email at support@chaosgroup.com with the scene so we can investigate it in detail?
Please use Extensions > V-Ray > Export > Pack Scene to archive the project with all its relevant assets into a single file.

    Kind regards,

After numerous efforts, I finally solved the issue by simply creating a new document and copying and pasting all the elements back into the scene. I'm not sure what the problem was but this seemed to fix it. Thank you so much for your response. It is greatly appreciated.
