Okay, this feels like something really simple wish i should know but I can't find the settings to get sun light and shadows. I have just begin use Skatter and learn more and more about V-ray so I thought the rendering I got was really god for my standards until I thought of the obvious that I didn't have any sun light and shadows from the sun. Any settings that I could have missed?

Seems like it is casting (see the downspout and shadow its leaving on the building behind). But your sun is just too low and its leaving long super soft shadows that you can't really see. Adjust the shadows via sketchup so its composits better with your camera angle (no light behind camera as that flattens out the scene, no back lighting, etc). If your going for a dusk/night shot, your best best is to turn off the sun and use an HDRI via the dome light instead (I believe they have one built in that would probably work well as the default when you first place a dome)

Found it, I had Volumetric Environment active.
