  • spot light is different in progressive and interactive

    HI,
    I posted this question in the public forum but didnt quite get an answer so Im posting here again;

    in this file there is a big difference in how the spot light renders in interactive and progressive:
    interactive: renders good
    Progressive: everything is too bright.

    the ONLY difference is the progressive/interactive choice.

    I have noticed that when I reverse faces so the room is more darker there is no difference in the render output.

    you answer was that it renders as it should, but if the only difference is in the method of rendering it doesn't make sense...

    Hello,

    The explanation from https://forums.chaosgroup.com/forum/...e-mode-vray3-6 still applies.
    When you reverse the geometry faces, the back ones are probably using the Default SketchUp material, which V-Ray considers as pure white and since using Brute Force (during Interactive render) for Global Illumination, you get a lot less light bounces, the image is darker.

    Kind regards,
    Peter
