When I set my spotlights to be a certain temperature, they fade considerably

I have a model with standard spotlights, and I used the temperature parameter to set the hue of light, however, when I do this, I cannot get any light from them. When I disable the temp. parameter, the light reappears. Do you just need to turn up the power considerably to get any light to appear?

I assume you are using CPU render with the latest v3.60.01?
Could you please send a sample file at support@chaosgroup.com for further investigation or at least some illustrations?
If you are initially using a white color and then slot a temperature map, keep in mind that resulting colors have lower chromatic value.
