  • Feature Request - OBJ imports as vrmesh

Is it possible to have OBJ as an option when importing a VRMESH? Basically, it would run the OBJ to vrmesh utility when loading.

Wow...thats a pretty cool idea. Could maybe expand to include FBX/max/3ds/etc....? Having to open everything in Max and convert to proxies and import to SU is a pretty big workflow hiccup. Being able to import and convert to proxies straight inside Vfs would be a nice time saver.

I don't think thats the intention. Right now, you can us the ply2vrmesh converter to convert an obj directly to vrmesh (https://docs.chaosgroup.com/display/...%7C+ply2vrmesh).

What your talking about is a more general 3d converter plugin, and that isn't really in CG's wheelhouse

It would be incredible but yeah, at the moment I was suggesting taking the tool that exists already and just give us access to it via mesh import. I doubt you’ll ever see MAX import anywhere. Even Lumion needs a Max license before it imports a .max file. Good ole Autodesk.
