  • Front Texture w 2-sided

When applying a Two-Sided Material, it would be great to have that new material use the texture front the front material in the SketchUp viewport. In a lot of instances, and I bet I am not alone, we are presenting our model in SketchUp before rendering. Most clients see the VRay texture helper and they freak out or don't understand what it is. It would be nice to represent these materials with their actual base texture (if possible)

    Hello, Matthew,

Such texture binding solution will not be implemented due to potential issues with more complex material structures, e.g. front material slot filled with an override material which contains within a blend material, etc.
Instead, you can use the Two-sided material's Translucency map slot if it contains a Bitmap texture (and use the texture setting's "Use in Viewport" button).
Alternatively, you can simply add any image file as texture to the SketchUp material corresponding to the V-Ray Two-sided - this will not affect the render output in any way and is easier to manage. Keep in mind the SketchUp texture will be reset if the Front/Back face materials are changed.
