In another rendering engine I have seen the option to have an HDRI align its brightest point with that of the SketchUp Sun. Can we get something like this in VRay? It's very useful in many setups.

Š¢hank you for the idea. This may be a convenient way of working in some cases but not all projects utilize HDRIs featuring outdoor environments so it will not be suitable to implement a universal behavior like your proposal. However, in the upcoming V-Ray Next for SketchUp, textures have interactive preview, which will allow you to effortlessly adjust any HDRI and see the direction of the light in your scene. The Dome Light widget tool will be slightly improved as well - its arrow indicating the center of the projected texture.
