  • Different Vray Aspect Ratios As Sketchup Scene

Hi, usually we have a lot of sketchup scenes, and some of them have different aspect ratios, since sketchup has advanced camera feature, is it possible to add different aspect ratio to sketchup scene? It would be so helpful if that integration is possible..

    Hello, Kenan,
    Thank you for this request!
Currently, the Render Output settings that control the image aspect ratio affect all scenes of a SketchUp project. Per-scene camera and output settings have been requested numerous times before and are something we would like to implement. Currently, however, we are still at concept level of design.
As a workaround, you can either save multiple copies of the skp, each with different settings or save unique .vropt files for each scene in the project and load them before rendering the scenes. None of these solutions work for batch rendering though.

    Kind regards,
    Peter

I would like to add to this request. I'm trying V-Ray out as a replacement for Thea Render. In Thea, I can save camera settings, render settings, IBL settings all to the Sketchup Scene. Not only does that allow for Batch Rendering, but also allows us to render different scenes quickly as we progress the design. This makes renderings part of our design workflow-- which is really important.
I would encourage the VRay team to think of renderings not only as "end products," which is what VRay seems to be set up for, but also as a vital part of actual Design workflow.
It would be great not to have to save VFBL and VROPT files for every scene.
      Can it be done?

        Hi guys,

This is a top-trending feature request which we'll certainly look into very soon.
The problem with storing scene states is always the UX.
We want to provide the best possible workflow for managing all the settings you override and this will take a while to design and test.

        Regards,
        Konstantin
