Using nodes for materials?

I wonder if it somehow would be possible to add a node function, as in Max? or does some limitations in sketchup makes it impossible?

Having an asset node editor alternative to the current Assets Outlier is something requested many times over the years.
Our devs are actively working on this concept as we continue to refine it. At this moment, though, I have no detailed info to share on its development status.
