Say I want to have a bunch of computers in an office show a different desktop, I can set an object ID and use that to swap the screen texture.
The problem is that if the computer is a component, changing its Vray Object ID changes the ID for all the other copies of that component. It works fine if I put the components each within their own group and set the ID on the group, but that is confusing for organization, especially if I am working on a model with other people, and they are used to just having all same objects be components.
I realize this may be a limitation of SketchUp, and how it stores component instances, but if not, it would be useful to be able to do this on a component instance level rather than the component definition level.
