    Hi,

I've seen in the 'Vray for Rhino' forum a request asking for the ability to import .mat materials from http://www.vray-materials.de/ and I also saw that you are preparing a converter that will be able for this month.

Will VfSU have the ability to use this converted materials too?

    Thank you and regards,

The converter that we're working on is a .mat > .vismat converter. Vismats will work with any of the ASGvis products.

        Re: Vray-materials.de

One of my jr programmers is working on it full-time right now. It still needs some bells and whistles, but a preliminary version should be ready in the coming weeks. I'm away from the office at the moment so I've not seen where he's at this week so I don't want to give any hard dates we can't live up to - but if what he tells me is true it shouldn't be far off.

I'm very eager to see the converter when is it available..?

I think it's one of the most crucial things to implement....

          Thankg guys...

Yes - we agree. It has been done for a couple weeks actually. But along the way I've made bug-fixes and modifications to our material format so in its current form it can not be opened in Beta 4 Sketchup. We will be making it publicly available as soon as I finish bringing these modifications into Sketchup - which I am devoting all of my focus on now.

              Re: Vray-materials.de

Any updates on this front? I am just getting into the demo version but even after only several hours I can see where the conversion from mat to vismat would be very helpful. Just wanted to see if/when a converter might be available before I start trying to make a material library from scratch. :

                Re: Vray-materials.de

I think we should be releasing it very soon - but in the meantime I believe Damian has been uploading some new vismats to our vismat repository. You can get to that by going to the Downloads section and then to the vismat repository

                    Re: Vray-materials.de - VISMAT'S

                    Afternoon all,

I am having issues converting my .mat texture in so much as the convertor needs a 3DS directory! alas I do not have 3DS I downloaded the Wild grass texture from the web-site above, if someone has already converted into a .vismap could they post? if this is possible / allowed?!?!

Or am I doing something profoundly wrong? :-[

                    Kind Regards

                    Mat Best
