  • .mat converter....

    Hi,

I don't know if I am being stupid here but I have read all threads in the forum discussing a vismat converter plug-in for 3DS max, I was just what was the latest on this? As I can't seem to find anywhere to download it from.

This would be really useful for me!

I searched the site, but couldn't find anything.

Really sorry if the answer is obvious!

    Tahnks

Is there a VISMAT Converter without 3dmax installed ?
I mean the application run alone ?
          Dorry for my bad English.

No, the vismat converter is not available as a standalone or without Max. Read the following post for a little bit more information.

                  Re: .mat converter....

That is not currently possible with the .mat materials. The reason is because that is 3dsMax's format, which they won't release the details about. Therefore we can't read the information from format because there is nothing that tells us what we are looking at. I highly doubt Autodesk would change this approach, so we're just waiting for the Chaos Group to introduce their own vray format.
