  • Unbiased Rendering for Vray for Sketchup

I look at images produced by other software packages that created realism i know vray can also do this realism but is the new version going to have unbiased capability ?

    regards

You'd have to ask ChaosGroup about that. ASGVis doesn't develop the render engine - but instead they just make the bridge between SU and V-Ray.
But it sounds like you're asking for a a rather fundamental change though. Unbiased instead of biased. Why not just use one of the existing biased render engines out there?
Please mention what V-Ray and SketchUp version you are using when posting questions.

What exactly is biased and unbiased rendering? Just out of curiosity?

(Someone could make a fortune if they invent a rendering terminology dictionary, lol!)
      I am currently using V-Ray 1.49.01.

My good sir they made a dictionary for everything

        www.lmgtfy.com/?q=biased+rendering

        Or

        http://renderspud.blogspot.com/2006/...rendering.html

Unbiased rendering quite simply means that there is nothing about the algorithms or techniques used that stops them from statistically having at least some chance of sending rays anywhere or accounting for any possible light.

Indubitably! Jolly good show, my man! ;D

light catche progression can do the same. but seems that the maximum no. of vray if i am not mistaken was 65,000.

Re: Unbiased Rendering for Vray for Sketchup

vray has both biased and biased capabilities. its the strength of the vray rendering system. but it's become famous for it's biased engine that is the irradiance mapping. the reason that it's popular is because it renders very fast. the only competitor i think when it comes to speed is cheetah 3d (but that's only available for mac and i have not tried it).

as to the unbiased rendering vray offers deterministic monte carlo (used to be quasi monte carlo). and there's the other one pointed out by nomeradona--the light cache, which was developed by vray. under light cache you can employ progressive path tracing as a rendering solution. it's quite good for exteriors but way, way slower.

if you want pure unbiased render there are many of them out there. there's maxwell render, indigo and kerkythea just to name a few.
