An easy way to setup sun caustics

Adding caustics effect for swimming pool provides a lot of realism. But it is very difficult to set the caustics for sun light in V-ray sketchup because we can't see the target for the sun light and the Photon Radius.
Adding a plane above areas (like a pool) to define the areas which will emit caustics photons may solve the problem.
Is there anyone how agrees with this idea ?

Its a concept worth exploring! We will look into the possibilities of implementing a feature like that in the future.

Glad to hear that, I imagine it will be working like a mesh light, in the Sampling light setting their will be an option to be used as a Photon caustics for the sun.
