  • Update the vrscene - change something in 3ds max and then?

What's the suggested workflow if i want to update something in the 3d app?
I.e. change some object, do i have to export a new vrscene and update it in unreal?
As we use the vrscene export for the whole scene, how do we update a single object i.e. new uv's?

    Hi, olika

At the moment the workflow for updating assets is the following:
    1. Make changes in material, mesh, UVs, etc. in your 3Daapplication(Max, Maya, Sketchup, Rhino, Revit ...)
    2. Export the whole or only the modified assets in a vrscene
    3. Inside Unreal you have to delete the modified assets from the level and the Content Browser
    4. Import the newly created vrscene and the content should be updated

We are looking into a more straightforward way of doing a scene update but cannot give a ETA on that at the moment. Can you share your opinion on how you think the update process should be? We are always happy to hear feedback from our users.

    Best regards,
    Alexander

        Hi, Olika

When you have your objects selected you just isolate them so that only they are visible and then export the vrscene. The vrscene exporter exports only objects that are visible in the scene and not hidden.
