  • Detailed Controls for Vray Lightbakes

I see in the documentation what the 'light bake quality' values represent in terms of vray settings, in the future would it be possible to actually be able to control each of these settings individually? Specifically- it would be nice to be able to choose progressive sampling and set a time limit for the atlas bakes while also being able to set the noise threshold and retrace values.

Another thing that is a little unclear- do any of the settings from the vray settings tab effect the vray bake settings (like distributed rendering and GPU device select for example)? In previous versions I thought the options in the vray settings tab controlled the settings of the vray light bake

    Hi, tmbarker531

We wanted to make the V-Ray bake as easy to use as possible without the clutter of numerous settings. We are looking into ways to give experienced V-Ray users extended options and that will be available in the future but cannot give you ETA at the moment. From the V-Ray Settings tab everything that is mentioned in the V-Ray Bake docs page will affect the bake. Those settings and parameters are:
    • Auto Correction Mode - Auto Exposure, Auto White Balance.
    • Time Limit (Minutes)
    • GI Engine - Bruteforce(GI Depth), Lightcache
    • Environment
    • Shadow Bias
    • Fallback Material
    • VRay CUDA Device Select
    • Distributed Rendering - On, Render Servers, Use Local Host, Render Servers, Maximum cached asset size

    Best regards,
    Alexander
