  • Baking Proxies in Unreal

    Hi,

In the manual, I udnerstand how to bake a proxy -

"Select the proxy and go to Static Mesh > Import Settings rollout. Press the Reset to Default button, which converts the proxy to a static mesh. The static mesh can now be baked"

If we do this process, is the Proxy no longer an instance?

    Thanks, Michael.
    Cheers, Michael.

    Hi Michael,

If you convert the proxy to a static mesh means that you will lose the benefits of memory optimization when using proxies. The "Proxy" will still be an instance but using static meshes instead of vrmeshes will require more RAM resources.

    Best regards,
    Alexander
