  • .BAT file to render atlas.vrscenes

There used to be a reference in the help file (under VRAY BAKE) to a .bat file being created automatically when multiple atlas.vrcene files were generated. This was was to be used with vray standalone, ouside of Unreal, to conserve resources. My .vrscene files were created as described, but I can not find any .bat file? Did I miss something?

    Using MAX 2021
    VRAY 5
    New optimize script
    UE4.25.1
    VRAY 4.30.23 (Update 3)

    Hi sfolts,

Thank you for the feedback! There has been a misleading information in the documentation page and has been corrected. A .bat file will only be generated when not used for generating atlas .vrscenes. It has been logged as an issue and will be forwarded to our developers. In the mean time you can download a similar .bat file that I created here:BatchRenderVRScenes.bat

With it you can render all .vrscenes in a specified directory. When you run BatchRenderVRScenes.bat you will be prompted with the following:
"Please specify installed directory of V-Ray for Unreal: " - Here you specify the installed directory for V-Ray for Unreal in the Plugins folder of Unreal e.g E:\PROGRAMS\Epic Games\UE_4.25\Engine\Plugins\VRayForUnreal.
"Please specify directory to render .vrscene files in batch: "
    - Here you specify the folder in which your atlas .vrscene are generated. Please note that V-Ray will render all vrscenes in the folder including those that are not light bake atlas ones.
"Please specify additional command arguments: " - Here you can specify any additional arguments that are valid for V-Ray Standalone e.g. -distributed=1 -renderhost="10.0.3.92;10.0.2.186" -portNumber=20207. With this command you specify that you will enable distributed rendering, you have 2 render slaves with IPs 10.0.3.92 and 10.0.2.186 which are listening on port 20207. For additional command argument check the documentation here: V-Ray Standalone Command Line Options.

Please let me know if you have other questions.

    Best regards,
    Alexander
