  • Possibly newb question re: multiple GPU's in Vray

Apologies if this is an obvious question, but essentially I ordered two RTX 2080's to run with NVlink, but I also found a great deal on an RTX 2070. My question is, if I add all three of them, with the two 2080's running on NVlink, will that adversely affect performance in some way making it better to not add the 2070, or would there be a net benefit to adding the single 2070 to the nvlink'd 2080s'? Again, apologies if this is a dumb question.

Specs for reference: i9-9900k, asus maximus xi hero motherboard, 64gb ram.

There are no dumb questions, just dumb answers

Adding 3rd GPU will make the render faste, *but* the available memory in that case will be 8GB (you can't NVLINK more than two PCIe devices).

You will have (2080+2080) in NVLINK (which is ~16GB) + 2070 (which is 8GB) and when you mix devices like that you are limited with the one with least memory.

    Best,
    Blago.
