  • A Few Questions

    Hi,

    A few things I would like to get clarity on;
    1. Does the World Position Pass work with GPU? I have it set to Point and Camera.
    2. When using Forest Pack, how do I exclude the geometry from the AO pass using Extra Texture?
    3. Does Render Mask work correctly?
    4. Does VRay Environment Fog work with Forest Pack?
    5. Can Aerial Perspective and Vray Environment Fog work together?

    Thanks, N

    Currently V-Ray GPU doesn't support Excluding lists for ExtraTex and VRayDirt.

        I'm rendering an interior animation and wanted to make sure I'm using the best settings. Below are the settings and a few questions;

        1 - 1920x1080 @25 fps with deep recesses and forest pack grass wall so, it gets noisy in the low light areas. The main lights are a Light Dome with a VRay Sky in the texture slot. There only VRay plane or disc lights and no IES lights. There are glossy reflections, specular reflections, transparency etc.. usual stuff

        2 - Light Cache 2000 & Bucket 0.008 noise limit, generally the noise is not very noticeable but there are fireflies and dark blotches but the most recent test was rendered in Single Frame Mode so that's probably why the blotches are happening. For an animation with only the camera moving do I pre calculate one frame in Flythrough mode then set the From File for rendering? For moving objects is the LC pre calculated for each frame? I've done this using VRay CPU for years but wanted to check.

        3 - There are approx 30 lights in the scene, should it be set to Adaptive Lights @ 8?

        Thanks for your help

          Is there an issue with Vray lights causing noise when using the directional functionality or if they are discs?
