Hi

Something I've noticed is that certain lights are more noisy, is this a known thing?

The best is the Vray Plane light but when I use the Directional function to create a cone light, it can become very noisy. When changing the plane to a disc, there can be noise issues aswell. IES lights also can cause more noise.

Does anyone else find this?

I have noticed this same issue.

Can you post some images? There are some improvements for directional lights that are coming, but I'm curious if there is anything else going on beyond that.
