  • Whats the latest on NVLINK and RTX 20.XX cards and doubling ram (non Quadro)

    Hi Guys

Is NLINK and doubling of RAM still supported on NON Quadro cards (2080 super, 2080 Ti etc) with the latest studio drivers? I read some talk a while back that NVidia was planning on removing this feature in newer drivers. Can anobody confirm if this actually happened?
    Kind Regards,
    Morne

It is working and we're using it daily
The only limitation is that you are allowed to have 1 NVLink pair in a system of GeForce cards.
This means that if you have 4 cards in a single machine you are not allowed to connect them 2 by 2. The driver will not report/use the second NVLink connection.

Using 2x Titan RTXs with NVlink here, works nicely! And 2080s on another machine
super gnu Latest driver that supports multiple NVlinked pairs with Geforce is 417
You cannot use that with GPU rendering now unfortunately

I will say that if you look online, you will find ways on how to patch newer drivers to support multiple NVlinks
Many people do that, but you will not find a direct thread on this as Nvidia would probably disable this hack. What I can say is that patching the drivers is not hard, it takes a bit of time/research but I'm sure anyone could do it.
