  • Hybrid rendering in Vray 5

After the update to Vray 5 cpu buckets is not shown during rendering. Also the CPU is not listed under devices. How can I make sure that I'm actually using both CPU and GPU?

I see no difference in render time when enable/disable cpu using the device selector tool found in C:\Program Files\Autodesk\MayaXXXX\vray\bin

I found the error. I had RTX enabled and that apparently doesn't work in hybrid rendering. When do expect to implement RTX in hybrid mode?

Indeed, hybrid rendering is not yet supported when rendering with V-Ray GPU RTX. I cannot give you a specific time frame, however, the request for hybrid RTX support is already logged (internal bug-tracker id: VGPU-4448 ) for our developers to look into. I'll add your request to it as well.

I was going to post this question as well. I am very interested in hybrid rendering with V-Ray GPU RTX. I've read news from Chaos from a year ago: https://www.chaosgroup.com/blog/v-ra...for-nvidia-rtx
Why haven't we heard about full integration?
