  • replacing background in post

hello. wha't a good approach using GPU rendering and replacing the background in post processing?

i have attached an image that shows some 3d trees in my scene with a halo around them. what i did is render the image with a vray dome light with HDRI map for lighting. then i saved as a 16bit tif file with alpha channel. opened this in photoshop, dragged an image in (new background) and used a mask create from the stored alpha in the render.

i'm wondering how to get rid of the halo. thanks.

Black environment and make the dome invisible should do the trick

bingo. damn using vray is nice. even with gpu you can do a ton of the old tricks that i couldn't due to using a different gpu renderer.
