  • latlong 360 3d spherical stereo pano for headsets

hello. my intention is to render stereo panos for vr headsets like oculus quest or gearvr. so standing in one place but look around the room in stereo.

i was review the settings to create latlong equitangular 360 3d spherical panos and came across this in the help files:

Focus method – Specifies one of the three following focus methods for the two views.

None – Both cameras have their focus points directly in front of them.
Rotation – The stereoscopic effect is achieved by rotating the left and right views so that their focus points coincide at the distance from the eyes where the lines of sight for each eye converge called fusion distance.
Shear – The orientation of both views remain the same but each eye's view is sheared along z so that the two frustums converge at the fusion distance.

if i choose Rotation or Shear there's no place to set the fusion distance?

is there some other type of control for that?

one issue i did have in a previous render is that parallel lines in a ceiling grid directly above the vray physical camera swerved or bent as those i was looking through glass. swirled a bit might be another way to describe it.

The fusion distance is taken from the Camera's "Target Distance".
