    Hi Muhhamed

    I would like to ask you if you have ever talked with the nvidea team about why proffesionals dont get benefits from new drivers. (They just simply work for the new build for vray gpu but a dont see new things with it)

    right now we have to use the game drivers and seems studio drivers are getting left apart.

    A lot of times what i see is that nvidea only take cares of gamers...the drivers gives gamers a bit more tools so they can play even better.

    But i have never see any kind of bennefit for architecs or designers.

    I believe chaosgroup should talk with nvidea developers so both can work together and offer us a better tools with vray gpu.

    Is so sad just change the driver to only gets work the new build, but never gives us a kind of advantage

    But did they even ask them self how we can improve nvidea drivers to bring new things to vray gpu for example 2 things that i really miss from vray cpu the diffuse roughness and the caustics effect.

    Seems vray gpu team is alone in this issue.

    I had changed a lot of times the studio driver and never gets anything new or better... Is just simply another FILE complement so vray gpu works.

    Just that.

    Thanks for your post, we advice our users to stick to the recommended studio driver on the GPU page, this driver is tested extensively by our team. It works reliably with V-Ray GPU, you will get a message in the log if you use newer or older Nvidia drivers.
    You don't need to update the driver unless we advice you to update it. We work closely with Nvidia on the topic of drivers, so if there is an update that benefits V-Ray GPU we be aware of that and we will proceed to update the recommended driver accordingly
    About the Gaming Drivers, they get updated very often like what you described. This is normal, Nvidia has many partners. That being said, please don't use the Game Ready Drivers with our products. The frequent updates target other products/games, it might trigger instability or other issues for GPU rendering with V-Ray GPU. This has been the norm for as long as I can remember, it is not a good idea to use new drivers for GPU rendering

    and seems studio drivers are getting left apart.
    Not really, there was an update recently the increased the performance of Cuda mode. And another recent update that solved geometry artifacts in RTX mode
    So the Studio drivers get updated yes, it takes time of course

    But i have never see any kind of bennefit for architecs or designers.
    Going from Driver 472 to 5xx solves many issues on RTX mode, and increases the performance on Cuda mode. So this does happen from time to time
    On the other hand, not all the frequent changes to Game Ready Drivers are good, some of them can cause serious issues. So please stick to the recommended drivers

    Both the requests are on the GPU roadmap, GPU Caustics is being worked on at the moment

      Good morning.
      Where on the GPU Page does it say what driver to use. Sorry can't see it.
      I have dowbn graded to a 526.98, and ithat clashes with after effects driver use.....
      So can I ask what is the best to use on An RTX 4090?
      Also The GPU ROADMAP, where does that live?

        About the clashes with After Effects we are upgrading the recommended driver to 528.49 soon, you can safely use that now

        About the GPU roadmap, it is not available publicly. I can share some of the items with you privately, message me if you are interested

          Thenak you for the info on the Driver, I am on that at the mome4nt but is comes up as not cmpatable with Ae and Pr, but still works fine I find.

          In realtion the road map, I am just curious. I have a RTX 4090 which is a big spend for me, but the speed difference is amazing.

            I've had other times where older recommended drivers for vray GPU have clashed with updates to other software (ie. Davinci Resolve) and I was "forced" to thus update the drivers. I don't recall any conflicts happening with Vray though. I tend to now just update my workstation drivers to most current and leave rendernodes to more stable as conflicts rarely occur and (in my case) most Vray GPU errors happen irrespective of Nvidia Drivers but moreso just the typical Vray GPU problems (memory errors, texture or shader errors, etc.).
