Hi there,
As we are currently considering a new setup for a RENDER PC / NODE, I would like to ask your opinion on the pros and cons of choosing one or more top GPU's vs a high-end CPU. As an example, two options could be:
A: 16 core Ryzen 9 7950X with 2 x RTX 4090.
B: 32 core Threadripper Pro 5975WX, GPU to be determined.
The machine will be used for active work on an on/off basis as well, with software including Rhino, Vray, Autocad and Unreal engine (also looking into 3ds max).
Things we are considering:
Active work vs rendering only
Render time and quality
Missing functionalities on GPU rendering vs CPU
4090 x 2 without sli/nvlink?
Future proofing in general
