    the 3990x is not even that old, so this ratio will be bigger if you compare to older CPUs

      Im using an eGPU with a laptop and its great.
      sometimes 3090 sometimes 4090.
      I use razer core X and also some barebones thing which is basically a little slot and a psu. (so small enough to fit in a suitcase to travel, although the card itself is massive..)

      I benchmarked the 3090 with both adaptors, and got slightly less performance as expected, but honestly in production I barely notice.

          Thanks in advance Muhammed for any guidance on this. I was thinking of building a separate render node for Vantage but hadn't really looked at an egpu as being an option. Would also need to purchase a thunderbolt expansion card as well I'm assuming.
