I am going to start/complete an interior using my 4090RTX, but right away, I am not very optimistic. A simple space, with lots of windows, is taking 35 minutes. My CPU renders in 1/2 the time. Have newer processes leveled the playing field?

You using vray gpu vs Vantage?

I don’t have Vantage. I’m testing my 4090RTX with V-Ray GPU.

CPU rendered in 8 minutes. I stopped GPU after 45 minutes and it was 1/2 done.

19 min on my laptop using an rtx 4090.

Is there any configurations I need to know about? I pulled a 3090 and dropped in the 4090. I also updated the driver. I didn’t go back the the Chaos tested driver. What driver are you running?

I have no clue. I have been reading posts about people getting real long render times using the 4090. So long, they are pissed that they spent so much money on the 4090. What driver are you using?

According to my device manager I'm using ver: 31.0.15.3699. The only thing I tweaked on the file was 1. Assigned the vraysky map to the vray sun you had and deleted the dome light. Other than than, all the same but noise threshold. I set it to .003 and .005 for the light cache version.

I have no clue where to find that driver. I am using Version: 536.99 WHQL

Are u chosing not to use Vantage because of the cost change thing? I tested you model and Vantage and it rendered in secs.

How many buckets should I be seeing with my 4090RTX? I am seing 6 buckets.

Assigned the vraysky map to the vray sun

Can you elaborate? I am not seeing any map field in the VRaySun. Are you just letting V-Ray add to the environment slot when you add the sun? I was always told to add a dome and link the environment map into that as well.
