  • Difference between CPU and GPU in OCIO Workflow

    Hi,

OCIO is now the default from 3dsMax in 2024. I have compared CPU and GPU renderings and they are much different than before!

I know there is some difference between CPU and GPU. But in OCIO the difference is huge. Am I doing something wrong?

    I simply switched renderers.

Hi, thanks for posting. We've had a few issues recently with ocio and GPU rendering but they are all fixed now. Are you using the Bitmap loader or the VRayBitmap loader for your scene? Are you rendering locally trough the UI or using a render manager, VRay Standalone or any other method.
If you are not using the latest version of V-Ray please download it and test with it.
Finally if nothing helps could you share a test scene showing the issue? Please do that here or through the support contact form.

My scene is your tutorial file. I checked the scene and everything was using 3dsMax's Bitmap. I converted to VRayBitmap and both result was same.

I see that without VRayBitmap, I can't get the correct result either on CPU or GPU. So there is a converter.

      Thank you for your time.
